We provide reliable and fast internet to millions of users worldwide, including populations with little or no connectivity, rural communities, aircraft, watercraft, and places where existing services are unreliable, too expensive, or disconnected by natural disasters. We design, build, test, and operate all parts of the system, thousands of satellites and consumer antennae that allow users to connect within minutes of unboxing. The Starlink team is seeking out the best-in-class professionals to maximize Starlink’s potential for communities and businesses around the globe.</span><span data-ccp-props="{}">&nbsp;</span></p> <p><span data-contrast="auto">The fire protection specialist provides design support and subject matter expertise in the following areas: fire protection, life safety, building and fire codes, fire hazard and risk assessment of materials and processes, fire and smoke spread, fire detection, fire detection, alarm and sprinkler system design, industrial fire hazards, fire investigation support, and other fire and life safety issues.</span><span data-ccp-props="{}">&nbsp;</span></p> <p><strong><span data-contrast="auto">RESPONSIBILITIES:</span></strong><span data-ccp-props="{}">&nbsp;</span></p> <ul> <li><span data-contrast="auto">Support engineering design, analysis, calculations and specifications for facility fire and life safety systems</span><span data-ccp-props="{}">&nbsp;</span></li> <li><span data-contrast="auto">Verify and sustain building adherence to current fire codes and the operational integrity of fire life safety systems</span><span data-ccp-props="{}">&nbsp;</span></li> <li><span data-contrast="auto">Develop AM&amp;M (Alternate Means &amp; Methods) to local AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction) to help with performance-based design criteria to meet intent of code</span><span data-ccp-props="{}">&nbsp;</span></li> <li><span data-contrast="auto">Manage the commissioning phase of fire life safety projects, from initial planning and risk assessments through to post-commissioning monitoring and adjustments</span><span data-ccp-props="{}">&nbsp;</span></li> <li><span data-contrast="auto">Conduct routine inspections, audits, and testing of fire life safety systems (e.g., alarms, sprinklers, extinguishers) to identify and resolve deficiencies proactively</span><span data-ccp-props="{}">&nbsp;</span></li> <li><span data-contrast="auto">Collaborate with facilities teams, contractors, and external authorities (e.g., fire marshals) to coordinate system installations, upgrades, and certifications</span><span data-ccp-props="{}">&nbsp;</span></li> <li><span data-contrast="auto">Prepare and maintain detailed documentation, reports, and records of inspections, compliance activities, and corrective actions to support regulatory audits</span><span data-ccp-props="{}">&nbsp;</span></li> </ul> <p><strong><span data-contrast="auto">BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:</span></strong><span data-ccp-props="{}">&nbsp;</span></p> <ul> <li><span data-contrast="auto">High school diploma or equivalency certificate</span><span data-ccp-props="{}">&nbsp;</span></li> <li><span data-contrast="auto">2+ years of experience in the design and construction of fire protection systems and/or fire protection consulting</span><span data-ccp-props="{}">&nbsp;</span></li> </ul> <p><strong><span data-contrast="auto">PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:</span></strong><span data-ccp-props="{}">&nbsp;</span></p> <ul> <li><span data-contrast="auto">Working knowledge of Building &amp; Fire Codes and NFPA Codes &amp; Standards</span><span data-ccp-props="{}">&nbsp;</span></li> <li><span data-contrast="auto">Degree in fire protection engineering</span><span data-ccp-props="{}">&nbsp;</span></li> <li><span data-contrast="auto">Professional Engineer License (P.E., passed the Principles of Engineering exam)</span><span data-ccp-props="{}">&nbsp;</span></li> <li><span data-contrast="auto">NICET certification in relevant fire protection programs</span><span data-ccp-props="{}">&nbsp;</span></li> <li><span data-contrast="auto">Ability to lead project design teams</span><span data-ccp-props="{}">&nbsp;</span></li> <li><span data-contrast="auto">Knowledgeable in OSHA compliance</span><span data-ccp-props="{}">&nbsp;</span></li> <li><span data-contrast="auto">Fire &amp; Smoke software modeling capabilities</span><span data-ccp-props="{}">&nbsp;</span></li> <li><span data-contrast="auto">Construction Administration experience</span><span data-ccp-props="{}">&nbsp;</span></li> <li><span data-contrast="auto">Proficient in Autodesk Revit       </span><span data-ccp-props="{}">&nbsp;</span></li> </ul> <p><strong><span data-contrast="auto">ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:</span></strong><span data-ccp-props="{}">&nbsp;</span></p> <ul> <li><span data-contrast="auto">Willing to work extended hours as needed</span><span data-ccp-props="{}">&nbsp;</span></li> <li><span data-contrast="auto">Willing to travel for specific project needs</span><span data-ccp-props="{}">&nbsp;</span></li> </ul><div class="content-conclusion"><p><strong>ITAR REQUIREMENTS:</strong></p> <ul> <li>To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
