In this role, you’ll be the technical backbone of our revenue function—owning our <strong>ASC 606 revenue policies</strong>, leading <strong>contract review</strong> for complex and strategic deals, and driving the <strong>documentation and governance</strong> needed to support both internal stakeholders and external auditors.</p> <p>You will also <strong>own SKU governance and set‑up</strong> across revenue‑impacting products and services, and have a unique opportunity to <strong>meet monthly with the Accounting leadership team</strong> to review key contracts, terms, and emerging policy topics.</p> <h2><strong>Role Overview&nbsp;</strong></h2> <p><strong>As a Senior Manager in our Revenue &amp; O2C Accounting organization, you will:</strong></p> <p><strong>Own technical revenue policy</strong></p> <ul> <li>Own and maintain Oura’s <strong>global revenue recognition policy framework</strong> under <strong>ASC 606</strong>, including policy memos, position papers, and internal guidance</li> <li>Develop and update <strong>accounting policies</strong> for new products, pricing models (including subscription and B2B constructs), sales motions, and go‑to‑market strategies</li> <li>Translate complex technical conclusions into <strong>clear, scalable guidance</strong> for Accounting, FP&amp;A, Sales, Legal, RevOps, and other cross‑functional partners</li> <li>Act as the <strong>primary contact for external auditors</strong> on revenue policies, significant judgments, and supporting documentation</li> </ul> <p><strong>Lead contract review &amp; documentation</strong></p> <ul> <li>Lead the <strong>end‑to‑end revenue contract review process</strong> for strategic, non‑standard, and/or complex deals (enterprise, channel, partnerships, and unique commercial constructs)</li> <li>Analyze key terms (performance obligations, variable consideration, discounts, usage or volume‑based features, options, rights, renewals, termination, and SLAs) and determine <strong>revenue recognition implications</strong> under ASC 606</li> <li>Draft high‑quality <strong>technical accounting memos</strong> that document fact patterns, technical analysis, conclusions, and alternatives considered</li> <li>Build and maintain <strong>standardized templates and checklists</strong> for contract intake, review, and memo documentation to drive consistency and scalability</li> <li>Partner closely with <strong>Sales, Legal, Deal Desk, FP&amp;A, and RevOps</strong> to review deal structures early and proactively influence contract terms and “guardrails”</li> </ul> <p><strong>Govern SKUs and revenue mapping</strong></p> <ul> <li>Own the <strong>SKU governance framework</strong> for revenue‑impacting SKUs, including design, approval, and lifecycle management</li> <li>Ensure each SKU is clearly mapped to <strong>performance obligations, revenue streams, and accounting treatment</strong> in the ERP and connected systems</li> <li>Partner with <strong>RevOps, Finance Systems, and IT/Engineering</strong> to ensure accurate SKU configuration, billing logic, and data flows that support compliant and efficient revenue recognition</li> <li>Design and strengthen <strong>controls and processes</strong> around SKU creation, changes, and deprecation, ensuring audit‑ready documentation</li> </ul> <p><strong>Leadership, visibility &amp; enablement</strong></p> <ul> <li>Lead a <strong>monthly review with the Accounting leadership team</strong> to walk through key contracts, non‑standard terms, policy updates, and emerging risks</li> <li>Provide ongoing <strong>training and enablement</strong> for Accounting and cross‑functional teams on revenue policies, standard terms, and deal review expectations</li> <li>Identify and drive <strong>process improvements and automation opportunities</strong> across revenue policy, contract review, and SKU governance</li> <li>Coach and mentor team members on <strong>technical accounting, judgment, and documentation best practices</strong></li> </ul> <h2><strong>What we’re looking for</strong></h2> <p>Required qualifications&nbsp;</p> <ul> <li><strong>10+ years</strong> of progressive accounting experience, with significant focus on <strong>revenue recognition under ASC 606</strong> (<strong>combination of</strong> <strong>Big 4 or national public accounting</strong> experience strongly preferred)</li> <li>Deep, hands‑on expertise with <strong>ASC 606</strong> (identifying performance obligations, variable consideration, contract modifications, principal vs. agent, standalone selling price, etc.)</li> <li>Experience in <strong>technology, consumer, and/or subscription / recurring revenue</strong> businesses</li> <li>Proven track record owning <strong>revenue policies</strong> and leading <strong>complex contract reviews</strong> and technical documentation</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to build <strong>scalable tools</strong>—checklists, templates, standard memo formats, and playbooks</li> <li>Exceptional <strong>technical writing skills</strong>, with the ability to draft concise, well‑structured memos and policy documents</li> <li>Strong comfort and genuine interest in <strong>reading, interpreting, and dissecting contracts</strong>, including non‑standard and cross‑border arrangements</li> <li>Excellent cross‑functional collaboration and communication skills; able to explain complex technical topics in clear, business‑oriented language</li> <li>High attention to detail, strong ownership mindset, and a bias toward <strong>building scalable, repeatable processes and controls</strong></li> </ul> <h2><strong>Preferred qualifications&nbsp;</strong></h2> <ul> <li>CPA (or equivalent) strongly preferred</li> <li>Experience within <strong>high‑growth, global</strong> organizations and evolving go‑to‑market motions</li> <li>Familiarity with <strong>NetSuite</strong> or similar ERP, and working with RevOps / systems teams on SKU and revenue configuration</li> <li>Direct experience supporting <strong>quarterly and annual audits</strong> on complex revenue topics and responding to auditor inquiries</li> <li>Prior people leadership experience within a <strong>revenue accounting or technical accounting</strong> function</li> </ul> <h2><strong>Location</strong></h2> <ul> <li><strong>Remote, United States</strong></li> <li>Open to candidates across continental U.S. time zones.
