As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.</p></div><h3>ABOUT THE TEAM</h3> <p>Anduril's Electromagnetic Warfare (EW) team is seeking experienced embedded software engineers to build out the software ecosystem supporting a next-generation electromagnetic warfare platform. You'll develop correct, secure, high-reliability embedded software in Rust for controlling electromagnetic warfare assets, both on Linux (NixOS) and in bare-metal/RTOS environments using async frameworks like Embassy and RTIC. You will collaborate with Electrical, RF, and Programmable Logic (PL) engineers to build high-performance hardware/software interfaces, and work with the wider software organization to integrate electromagnetic warfare products with the Anduril Lattice system-of-systems suite. The role also includes building Linux-side CLI tools in Rust for calibration, deployment, and diagnostics, and applying state-of-the-art software construction techniques to rapidly deploy cutting-edge capabilities to our customers.</p> <h4>WHAT YOU'LL DO</h4> <ul> <li>Participate in system design, part selection, and schematic reviews for product revisions and greenfield products</li> <li>Write and maintain device drivers for microcontroller peripherals and external ICs</li> <li>Implement bootloaders and over-the-air (OTA) update mechanisms</li> <li>Build deterministic, reproducible firmware builds and configuration management for deployment, guaranteeing software traceability</li> <li>Test software using unit, software-in-the-loop (SITL), hardware-in-the-loop (HITL), and system-level methodologies</li> <li>Use software debugging tools (probe-rs, OpenOCD, GDB/LLDB) and hardware debugging tools (logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, multimeters, soldering)</li> <li>Collaborate with FPGA/PL engineers on register interfaces and hardware/software integration</li> </ul> <h4>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS</h4> <ul> <li>7+ years professional experience in embedded software and/or firmware engineering</li> <li>Strong proficiency in Rust for embedded systems, including <code>no_std</code> and <code>embedded-hal</code> ecosystem</li> <li>Comfortable working with microcontroller peripherals (SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet, etc.) and data bus types (AXI, USB, etc.)</li> <li>Excellent technical communication and collaboration skills</li> <li>Must be able to obtain and hold a U.S. TS security clearance</li> </ul> <h4>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS</h4> <ul> <li>Experience with embedded async Rust frameworks (Embassy, RTIC)</li> <li>Proficiency in C for reading and interfacing with vendor HALs and legacy codebases</li> <li>Experience with software-defined digital radio systems</li> <li>Experience with industry standards bodies or open-source communities</li> <li>Experience measuring and enhancing performance related to speed, size, power consumption, and cost</li> <li>Experience with Nix/NixOS</li> <li>Understanding of functional programming languages like Haskell</li> </ul><div class="content-pay-transparency"><div class="pay-input"><div class="title">US Salary Range</div><div class="pay-range"><span>$191,000</span><span class="divider">—</span><span>$253,000 USD</span></div></div></div><div class="content-conclusion"><p><span data-contrast="auto">The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only.
