The Manufacturing Engineering department develops and implements robust manufacturing processes and tooling solutions to ensure Anduril's defense products are produced efficiently, reliably, and at scale at Anduril.<br><br>As Manufacturing Tooling Engineer, you will design, develop, and maintain innovative tooling systems that enhance our manufacturing capabilities and production efficiency. The right person for this role has strong mechanical design skills, expertise in CAD software, experience with tool fabrication processes, and knowledge of manufacturing systems integration. If you are someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving complex tooling challenges, and is passionate about supporting cutting-edge defense technology manufacturing with creative tooling solutions then this role is for you.<br><br><strong>This role will be based temporarily at Santa Ana, CA for a 3 month training period before transitioning to Asheville, OH. </strong><br><br><strong>WHAT YOU’LL DO </strong></p> <ul> <li>Build things that build things</li> <li>Design and develop custom tooling, fixtures, and jigs to support manufacturing operations across multiple product lines</li> <li>Design integrated end of arm tooling for manufacturing operations that demand high quality and repeatability</li> <li>Create detailed technical drawings, 3D models, and specifications for tool fabrication using advanced CAD software</li> <li>Troubleshoot and resolve tooling-related issues in production environments to minimize downtime</li> <li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design engineers, manufacturing engineers, and production staff to integrate tooling solutions with manufacturing systems</li> <li>Conduct failure analysis on tooling and implement design improvements to enhance performance and durability. Develop and release PM procedures.</li> <li>Manage tooling budgets, vendor relationships, and outside fabrication of specialized tooling</li> <li>Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing costs and improving manufacturing throughput</li> <li>Ensure all tooling designs comply with safety standards and regulatory requirements</li> </ul> <p><strong>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS </strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related technical field</li> <li>5+ years of experience in manufacturing tooling design and implementation</li> <li>Expert capability with (at least one) 3D CAD software (NX, SolidWorks, Inventor, or CATIA)</li> <li>Demonstrated experience with tooling design for precision manufacturing processes</li> <li>Knowledge of machining processes, materials properties, and manufacturing methods</li> <li>Expert in GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)</li> <li>Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance</li> </ul> <p><strong>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS </strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience in defense, aerospace, or other high-reliability manufacturing environments</li> <li>Knowledge of automation systems and integration with tooling solutions</li> <li>Experience with tool lifecycle management and maintenance planning</li> <li>Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies</li> <li>Background in rapid prototyping and iterative design</li> <li>Currently possesses and is able to maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance</li> </ul><div class="content-pay-transparency"><div class="pay-input"><div class="title">US Salary Range</div><div class="pay-range"><span>$99,000</span><span class="divider">—</span><span>$131,000 USD</span></div></div></div><div class="content-conclusion"><p><span data-contrast="auto">The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only.
