MEET THE TEAM

Preply's B2B segment is a growing vertical, and this is a newly created role to strengthen its analytics capabilities. You will own B2B analytics projects, such as LTV, retention analysis and B2B reporting, from problem definition to recommendation, with a day-to-day focus on retention, renewals and customer value. You will work alongside the Staff Data Analyst and Data manager for B2B, who leads company-level and cross-domain questions. You'll partner across Product, Ops, Engineering, Sales, Account Management and RevOps, and occasionally contribute to company-level questions when they touch B2B influencing B2B roadmap and strategy.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is an analytics role at the intersection of product, business and finance, focused on what drives long-term B2B growth, retention and unit economics, and on turning that into decisions teams and leadership act on. You will work directly with Directors and VPs on B2B trade-offs, and your analysis is expected to change what gets built, priced or prioritised.

Getting there means building the trusted data layer first. In the first 6–12 months you will review and fix B2B metrics and data quality, improve reporting so teams can self-serve, and deliver the analyses behind the year's priority decisions. By month 12, success looks like a B2B metric set leadership uses without caveats and a renewal-risk view the Account Management team acts on.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Own retention, renewals and customer value analytics for B2B: lead cohort, renewal and customer-activity analyses that answer priority business questions, and turn findings into concrete pricing, product or lifecycle recommendations.

  • Develop the analytical frameworks B2B teams and leadership use to evaluate trade-offs and spot opportunities for growth, retention and expansion.

  • Build impact models and scenario analyses for priority B2B initiatives, supporting planning and decisions with clear assumptions, trade-offs and limitations.

  • Own LTV/CAC for B2B and the metrics behind it (NRR, GRR, CAC, CAC payback): build the model, keep it honest, and make sure the business understands what it can and cannot say.

  • Define and review B2B metrics with business stakeholders: purpose, calculation logic, data quality and edge cases. Document agreed definitions and drive consistent use across teams.

  • Maintain the trusted B2B data layer: build and maintain analytical models in dbt and Looker, and investigate data-quality issues with RevOps, Salesforce owners and Analytics Engineering, validating how they affect reporting and analysis.

  • Partner with business and product teams to define hypotheses, prioritise experiments and agree how success will be measured. Analyse results and explain what the evidence supports and where uncertainty remains, including when a clean experiment isn't possible.

  • Decide what should be self-serve and build only what changes behaviour: dashboards and reports stakeholders use independently, validated with them.

  • Prioritise analytical work based on business impact and align on clear commitments, partnering with stakeholders across Product, Ops, Engineering, Sales, Account Management and RevOps to understand business needs and turn insights into actions. Share knowledge and support other analysts.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • You can point to a specific decision (a pricing change, a resourcing call, a roadmap cut) that happened because of your analysis, and explain how you took it from an unclear business question to a validated recommendation and how you assessed the result afterwards.

  • You understand B2B or account-based business models, including acquisition, contracts, renewal, retention and expansion, and you are fluent in NRR, GRR, CAC and CAC payback. Subscription or marketplace experience counts if you can apply it to B2B questions.

  • Experience defining or reviewing business metrics, investigating data-quality issues and agreeing calculation logic with stakeholders.

  • You have built an LTV, cohort or revenue forecast model yourself, not only interpreted one someone else built, and you can explain its assumptions and where it breaks.

  • Strong SQL and solid data-modelling experience. You can independently build, maintain and validate analytical models, and you review others' SQL and dbt rather than waiting for review.

  • Applied statistics for customer behaviour, retention and experiments. You distinguish association from causation, explain uncertainty and measurement limits, and know what to do when you can't randomise: pre/post with controls, matched cohorts, difference-in-differences, or an honest decision-grade approximation.

  • Strong critical thinking, stakeholder management and communication: you clarify the business need behind a request, challenge assumptions constructively, and agree priorities based on business value. You explain findings, assumptions and limitations clearly to different audiences, including Directors and VPs, and propose practical next steps.

  • Experience translating business questions into useful dashboards and reports with a BI tool, and validating them with users using storytelling with data principles.

NICE TO HAVE

  • Direct experience in B2B SaaS or enterprise businesses.

  • Hands-on dbt in production.

  • Experience improving analytics practices: documentation, data-quality checks, self-service reporting, KPI frameworks.

  • Experience with Looker.

  • Master's or PhD in a quantitative field.
