Sr. Backend Engineer - Warehouse Integrations

<h4><strong>About the Job:</strong></h4> <p data-renderer-start-pos="5863" data-local-id="f0a6be33c71e">The Warehouse Integrations team at Launchdarkly builds the infrastructure that lets LaunchDarkly customers connect their enterprise data warehouses to unlock advanced capabilities like warehouse-native experimentation and real-time metrics.</p> <p data-renderer-start-pos="6105" data-local-id="2e553d01ff39">As a Senior Backend Engineer, you'll be a key architect for scaling this platform and expanding our warehouse integrations footprint. You'll lead the design and implementation of core infrastructure - from integration connectors and data export pipelines to health checks and operational monitoring, while mentoring engineers and setting technical direction for the team.</p> <p data-renderer-start-pos="6478" data-local-id="8707b0b49162">This is a critical role in LaunchDarkly's strategy to meet customers where their data lives and enable data-driven feature experimentation at scale.</p> <h4>Responsibilities:</h4> <ul class="ak-ul" data-local-id="fbee970fd37e" data-indent-level="1"> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="6652" data-local-id="e53a3bdd2b5a">Architect and design scalable warehouse integration infrastructure that enables LaunchDarkly to support multiple enterprise data warehouse platforms and add new integrations systematically.</p> </li> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="6845" data-local-id="4c079b334023">Build and own core backend services and APIs that power warehouse connectivity, including data export pipelines, health checks, authentication flows, and operational monitoring.</p> </li> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="7026" data-local-id="55c29355e82b">Drive technical excellence by establishing design patterns, frameworks, and best practices for warehouse integrations that the team uses as they scale.</p> </li> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="7181" data-local-id="e5ea223ee0c1">Partner with cross-functional teams to define integration roadmaps, resolve technical blockers, and ensure warehouse-native features are delivered reliably.</p> </li> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="7341" data-local-id="8c475e335ce4">Lead technical design reviews and author tech specs for complex, cross-cutting integration work, and setting standards for implementation.</p> </li> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="7483" data-local-id="44e42b74fc0f">Mentor and support backend engineers on the team through code reviews, design discussions, and regular guidance, fostering strong fundamentals and ownership mindset.</p> </li> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="7652" data-local-id="5c06301e0f1b">Communicate effectively across technical and non-technical audiences, articulating complex system decisions, trade-offs, and progress to stakeholders, engineers, and peers.</p> </li> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="7828" data-local-id="0f2f8685312e">Improve reliability and operational maturity of warehouse integrations through observability, monitoring, load testing, and production incident response.</p> </li> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="7985" data-local-id="9ab4f3408df0">Actively participate in on-call rotation to support production systems, diagnose issues in distributed environments, and implement lasting fixes.</p> </li> </ul> <h4>Qualifications:</h4> <ul class="ak-ul" data-local-id="0db4924f4906" data-indent-level="1"> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="8156" data-local-id="1949060cef4b">8+ years of professional backend software engineering experience, with a demonstrated track record of designing and shipping scalable, production-grade systems in complex domains</p> </li> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="8338" data-local-id="66b1deeeabf1">Proven expertise in distributed systems design and implementation, including experience with topics such as consistency models, replication, consensus, and failure handling in large-scale environments</p> </li> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="8542" data-local-id="bd761f54ca6d">Strong programming proficiency in Go, Java, Rust, or C++ with the ability to ramp up quickly on new technologies and languages</p> </li> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="8672" data-local-id="845437aabfe4">Solid understanding of domain modeling
