Senior Customer Data Science - Solutions / Experimentation

<p>As a Customer Data Scientist at Datadog, you will partner directly with customers to help them design, execute, and scale high-impact experimentation programs. This role is ideal for someone with deep experience in applied experimentation who thrives in customer-facing environments and is motivated by driving measurable business outcomes. You will guide customers through experiment design, metric development, and data validation, helping them build trustworthy, decision-driven experimentation practices. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our Datadogs can create a work-life harmony that best fits them.</em><br><br></p> <p><strong>What You’ll Do:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Serve as a technical and analytical partner to customers across pre-sales and post-sales engagements, demonstrating the value of Datadog’s experimentation capabilities</li> <li>Support proofs of concept by helping customers define metrics, validate data pipelines, and design statistically sound experiments</li> <li>Educate customers on best practices in experiment design and interpretation across product, marketing, pricing, and AI-driven use cases</li> <li>Enable long-term customer success by building strong experimentation practices and analytical rigor within their teams</li> <li>Collaborate with Product and Engineering to translate customer feedback into product improvements and roadmap input</li> <li>Partner with Sales and Solutions teams to navigate complex customer needs, address objections, and build trusted relationships</li> </ul> <p><strong>Who You Are:</strong></p> <ul> <li>4+ years of experience in data science with a strong foundation in statistics, causal inference, and experimental design in applied business or product contexts</li> <li>Hands-on experience running A/B tests and applying advanced experimentation methods such as holdouts, bandits, synthetic controls, or geo-based testing</li> <li>Fluent in SQL and comfortable working with data warehouses and pipelines to diagnose and resolve data quality issues</li> <li>Experienced in customer-facing, consulting, or pre-sales environments, with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly to diverse audiences</li> <li>Skilled at translating analytical insights into business impact, influencing decisions across technical and non-technical stakeholders</li> <li>Experience with experimentation platforms, analytics tooling, or modern data stack technologies (e.g., dbt, Airflow) is a plus</li> </ul> <p><em>Datadog values people from all walks of life.
